Off the back of their latest Toolroom Trax release remixing Federico Scavo’s ‘Watchin’ Out’, we asked The Deepshakerz to pick their top 10 Disco Records of all time.
10. Patrick Hernandez – Born To Be Alive
I really love this record and the vocal, a very positive vibe…
9. Sylvester – You Make Me Feel
Maybe the first Disco record my dad let discover me in my childhood, too much feelin’ on this…
8. Cerrone – Supernature
No need words to describe Cerrone, simply a real master. Every song of his is a masterpiece and this one probably is my favourite.
7. Donna Summer – I Feel Love
The Queen of Disco, her vocal is something divine and i really love the instrumentation on this song, thanks to the pioneer Moroder.
6. Delegation – You And I
I like the chorus and the guitar riff on this record too much, I must’ve listened to this record maybe more than a million times in my life!
5. Gino Soccio – Dancer
My favorite from Gino Soccio, an evergreen of Disco music that invites us to know the power of our body by dancing to detach ourselves from reality and feel good.
4. Giorgio Moroder – Chase
National pride Giorgio Moroder contributed to the expansion of synths in commercial songs, synths that we still hear today.
3. Chic – Le Freak
When you’ve got Bernard Edwards on bass, Nile Rodgers on guitar and Tony Thompson on drums, you just cannot fail. One of the greatest rhythm sections of all time.
2. The Trammps – Disco Inferno
The greatest Disco song in the entire history of Disco songs. This can not even be debated.
1. Bee Gees – Staying Alive
Another classic from the Disco era, It is physically impossible NOT to strut while this song is playing!
